Following the resignation of Ayatollah Taskhiri as the Head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki was appointed for the place.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Following the resignation of Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Taskhiri as the Head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, the Islamic scholar Ayatollah Mohsen Araki was appointed as the Director of the organization.

It is worth to noting that Ayatollah Taskhiri was selected as the Head of the Council of World Forum on account of his copious experiences, in and outside of the country, in the proximity arena.

Regarding the replacement, the grand Ayatollah mentioned that due to the spread of Islamic Awakening wave and the augment of seminars and conferences in the aforementioned realm, it was expedient and requisite for him to decrease his activities.

Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Taskhiri was the Head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought spanning 5 years.

It is worth to noting that Ayatollah Sheikh Mohsen Araki was a former member of the Assembly of Experts in Iran, and a prominent Iranian cleric and one of the students of the Islamic thinker Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr.

He was born in Najaf, Iraq. He benefited from the Islamic seminary in Najaf and Qom. He speaks fluent Arabic and English and has authored to this day dozens of books in three languages of Persian, Arabic and English.

Ayatollah Sheikh Mohsen Araki was the personal representative of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (the Supreme Leader of Iran) in London and also the Head of the Islamic Centre of England until 2004.
